What you'll discover

So, you’ll arrive a week before everyone else, just to get a feel for life at INSA. During this time, you’ll have classes and/or lab sessions (reading a map, going on a treasure hunt…), so you can start the school year feeling completely at ease. Don’t worry—these are just classes to get you back into the swing of things; you won’t cover anything essential to your academic year.

You’ll also get examples of lectures, since this is a new course format, along with methodology classes (aka how to decipher coded messages). This week will also be filled with side quests throughout the lost city to help you find your way around: escape games, tours of the city and its museums, visits to companies… all great opportunities to get to know your fellow adventurers.

It wraps up with a night out at Kfet, the INSA bar, to end the event on a high note!

You’ll also receive 1.5 hours of math tutoring per week throughout the year (if you’re from a DROM), as well as mentoring from engineers so you can discuss and reflect on your future plans!

For everyone coming from the French overseas departments and regions, we know that venturing so far from home can be a challenging time… Don’t worry—INSA is here to support you and offers services to make sure everything goes as smoothly as possible. And don’t forget to get your vitamin D, because the weather in Lyon isn’t always great.

During summer school, you’ll also have the chance to meet us (the CdP) and spend evenings with us or with members of your miff who have already returned to campus.

In short, you'll have some great memories and an amazing orientation week!

Special note: If you’re not from mainland France, INSA will lend you sheets and a bolster pillow, which you can have laundered for free all year round!
