The WEI
Want to escape the urban jungle of Villeurbanne to feel the warmth of the sun on your skin and meet your fellow adventurers? Then pack your bag—WEI is made just for you! The idea is simple: it’s a weekend organized for all first-year students and led by experienced guides from the BdE’s WEI team and a few CdP scouts. You’ll make tons of friends playing group games during the day and partying at the famous WEI welcome party. Lots of activities are planned so you can have a blast and start the year off right! Just one mission: survive, have fun, and leave with a team ready to conquer the year.

The Cross / Color Run
The INSA Cross Country Race is a long-distance race held on the
INSA campus and its surrounding areas. This legendary competition is a unique opportunity to prove one’s
worth and courage by demonstrating endurance, speed, and tenacity to reach
the finish line. The varied distances and technical courses offer a challenge
for all skill levels, from budding explorers to seasoned
treasure hunters. The INSA Cross Country Race is also a time for sharing and camaraderie, where you can
meet people and share your passion for running.
Here, there’s no extreme survival—if you just want to have a good time (or get a
real workout), you can join the Color Run, which will show you all the
colors, literally and figuratively!
The COP Campaign
And yes, one day, a young apprentice will become a jungle expert! If you’re wondering who the tribe leaders behind your induction are and how they were chosen, let me let you in on the secret of the CdP… They are the members of the Sponsorship Committee, the 100 most experienced adventurers who will be part of the future 2A class. During the campaign, we run as tribes of 25: it’s a list. To be elected, each list chooses a theme and participates in the CdP campaign: creating a teaser and costumes, each more incredible than the last, campus events, breakfast at the bottom of the dorms, and ABOVE ALL, a list rap! It’s an unforgettable week for every INSA student, whether or not they’re part of a list, so don’t hesitate to follow our lead and embark on the quest for the greatest treasure of all: becoming a CdP.

The Humanitarian Carnival
Adventurers, local tribes, and even all the jungle animals switch to “fiesta” mode for an entire week. The Humanitarian Karnaval is a festive and community-spirited event held every year, where participants dress up in extravagant costumes and parade through the streets of Lyon to raise funds for important humanitarian causes , all while enjoying the event’s festive and joyful atmosphere. Expect to see a campsite set up right in the middle of our camp, but don’t worry—they’re not treasure hunters, just a troupe of troubadours who are there to entertain you with shows and awesome food trucks!

The Ball
Once you’re close to your treasure, as your adventure draws to a close, take off your hat, put down your binoculars, map, and machete, and slip into your best suit or your best dress! Basically, you’ll need to break out your best outfit and bring along your adventure partner (or just your most loyal friends), and you’ll enjoy a night to remember!!! Lots of artists will take the stage, and you’ll snap tons of photos with your friends (make the most of it—it’s not every day they’ll be wearing anything other than sweatpants or camping gear). You’ll get to experience a truly classy night filled with poker games, glasses of champagne, and slow-motion dancing just like in the movies.

The Raid
A treasure hunt that even the most experienced adventurers wouldn’t dare attempt. The Raid is a sports competition (for teams of four explorers) that takes place on trails littered with various obstacles, featuring grueling challenges such as trail running, mountain biking, rock climbing, canoeing, and orienteering. Participants must demonstrate courage, perseverance, and team spirit to succeed in this challenge and discover the beauty and diversity of the jungle! The Raid is thus a unique opportunity to prove one’s worth and assert one’s place in this dark forest.

The INSA 24-Hour Challenge
Adventurers, get ready… because here comes the legendary event, one of the most anticipated
on the calendar. The perfect gathering for all music lovers across the entire jungle, and
also for the most resilient explorers! It’s the BIGGEST student festival in
France. Every May, the campus jungle comes alive for three unforgettable days. On
the program: the legendary races since 1972—cycling, triathlon, and running—where only the
most resilient etch their names in history. But that’s not all: as night falls,
the jungle vibrates to the beat of electrifying concerts, with artists who will give you a
magical experience. And between expeditions? There are also over 70 free activities of all
kinds (cultural, athletic, for people of all ages) across the entire campus during
the festival’s three days. The adventure culminates in a grand finale with fireworks
that light up the entire jungle. So how can I tell you that this is an event not to be missed! But
stay on your toes, budding explorer—as I told you, this event is very popular.
So act fast to secure your tickets!
And if you’re feeling brave, you can even sign up as a volunteer to provide water to all the
visitors who’ve gotten lost in the jungle (the campus) and help manage the entire organization
!
The High-Five
The High-Five is the Insalians’ favorite festive and friendly event: a grand expedition where all the INSA campuses take the stage. Just like explorers searching for the greatest treasures, you’ll set out to conquer all the INSA campuses by taking on each school’s elite exploration team in a wide variety of fields! Over the course of these three days, you’ll find plenty to do, including sports activities, concerts, games, and creative workshops. You have one mission: to defend your tribe’s colors, push your limits, and above all, create legendary memories with the entire INSA community.
