A typical day

To give you a taste of what classes are like, here’s a typical day at INSA. We’ve also included a schedule so you can get a sense of what a typical week looks like (this is the schedule of an “adventurer” in the standard track, so if you’re in a different track, it might vary a bit).

between 7:00 and 7:45 a.m.: Wake up
(Recommended if you start at 8 a.m.) The bravest and earliest-rising explorers venture toward Point A, aka the first refreshment stop of the long day. On the menu: bread, pastries, spreads, fruit, juice, yogurt, and hot drinks.
8 a.m.–12 p.m.: First events
Trying to stay awake in lectures and keep up in seminars, all while switching classrooms or lab sessions. With a little luck, you’ll be able to squeeze in a trip to the holy grail that is Maxicoffee between classes to grab a café noisette (liquid gold, trust the veterans of ’82—they’d hook themselves up to an IV drip if they could).
12:00 PM–2:00 PM: Lunch Break
The famous lunch break that’s a real treat. If you’re quick (or riding an alligator) or just finish early, you can try your luck at Prévert (the INSA snack bar) or L’Olivier (the pizzeria) because there’s often a line. Otherwise, you can take it easy and head over to the RI, where the menu is nice from time to time.
Pro tips from the veterans: eat fast so you can sunbathe at your computer between missions when the weather's nice.

P.S.: If you're in the Competitive Sports Program, you might have practice one of these afternoons.

2:00 PM–6:00 PM: Routine
Put your hat back on and lace up your boots, because it’s time for another round of lectures and tutorials. The usual routine.
6:00–8:00 p.m.: The RI
the time when people go to eat at the RI. Often, the miffs have a set schedule, so you can choose to go with them, or with your mission buddies.
8:00–10:00 p.m.: Le Charbon
There are two options for studying. Either the BMC, INSA’s awesome library, or your dorm room. (Those of you who go to the library—we think you’re awesome.) And then, it’s back to the grind until 10 p.m. at the BMC, or whenever you want if you’re in your dorm room (just be considerate of your roommate).

P.S. #2: If you're in the Competitive Track Program, you might have practice one evening.

Just make sure you don't stay up too late, so you don't end up snoring in class the next day.

Disclaimer

We've just given a rough estimate of the schedule—don't worry, you won't be working from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day!! Typically, on Thursdays you only have classes in the morning.

As for your daily work hours, it’s up to you to figure out a schedule—whether you’ll work hard during the week and take the weekends off, or the other way around, or something in between

It's all about organization, and don't worry—the jungle veterans (the CdPs) will be there to answer all your questions!
