If you want to discover European culture, then join us at EurInsaaaaaaa! You’ll get to meet students from different European countries, and you’ll be able to choose a second modern language from Russian, Italian, German, Spanish, or Portuguese—perfect for going on field trips. Maintaining a second language can help you when you dive into the core curriculum in your third year, since you won’t have to start from scratch, unlike in other programs.
Another advantage is that there are about 75 of us in our track, which is divided into 3 classes. As a result, we know almost everyone, especially in 2A where we have a pretty good idea of who we’ll be with, unlike in the traditional track. The best part about Eurinsaaaa is that in 2A you can choose an elective or club: there’s OPAL and CUID. But we’ll tell you more about that in detail at the end of your first year!
Just so you know, Opal is for students taking German. To participate, you need to write a cover letter in German. This will allow you to replace that 4-hour-a-week class with German and CSS (Culture, Science, and Society) classes (not the most exciting classes, to be honest). The association running this project is Lorelei, and it organizes events on German culture, such as Oktoberfest. Finally, Opal’s goal is also to plan and film a documentary during a trip to Germany, Austria, or Switzerland.
Next, for Cuid, it’s also a 4-hour-per-week course based on the same principle, which will therefore
replace the English and CSS classes. A cover letter (in French) and an interview
will allow you to join the program. The goal is to take courses on European civilization, to
understand geopolitical issues, but also to meet people and engage in debates… This makes the
classes very enriching!
