Your turn

For those who can work without telling their coworkers their life story, or who are just too lazy to venture into the rainforest, you can always work from your bedroom.

🏫

Tutorial rooms

Perfect for hanging out with your friends right after class, the open study rooms are open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day (including Thursdays) and until 9 p.m. during midterm review periods. You can also use the whiteboards, which are handy for group study sessions.

BMC

The Marie Curie Library is where most first- and second-year Insaliens choose to study. Open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays, it’s halfway between your dorm and the RI. You’ll find all kinds of old scientific texts there, but it’s mostly just a cool spot if you want to hang out with your friends at a table to study together. You can also reserve a room (with a whiteboard and a projector) to study or prepare for an oral exam or group project, so you can make as much noise as you want without disturbing others.

🏢

The Library

The next level up is the Lyon 1 University Library. It’s further away, bigger, and quieter—it’s the go-to spot for serious studiers and the holy grail during midterm review periods. It’s right next to the RI and is open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays, and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekends (even on Sundays). It’s the quietest place you can find—seriously, look left and right, no one says a word, everyone’s studying hard, so it puts pressure on you to do the same.

The Beehive

La Ruche is a slightly more laid-back spot where you’ll mostly find seasoned adventurers (who are in town). It’s located right next to the MDE and L’Olivier (you’ll figure out where it is in no time, don’t worry), and here you can talk quietly and work in groups without any issues. La Ruche is open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. on weekdays, except on Thursdays and Saturdays when it closes at 7 p.m.
